Stephanie Haggerty is an associate in the New York office of Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., with a practice focused on environmental and natural resources law and related litigation, regulatory compliance, and transactional work.  She represents companies in a range of environmental matters in a number of jurisdictions, including New Jersey and New York, and involving, among other things, CERCLA liability and private cost recovery actions.  Ms. Haggerty's practice also focuses on site remediation issues involving hazardous wastes and petroleum products, as well as historic groundwater and soil contamination at commercial and industrial sites. 

Ms. Haggerty's transactional experience includes drafting and negotiating service contracts and access agreements, as well as conducting due diligence for real estate closings.  She also has experience with TSCA, litigation of toxic tort matters and multi-party litigation, with a primary emphasis on asbestos and MTBE, and with OSHA standards and involvement in related hygiene investigations.

Prior to joining the Firm, Stephanie an associate in the Environmental, Land Use, and Natural Resources group at K+L Gates in Newark, New Jersey. Ms. Haggerty is also an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law. 

Ms. Haggerty received her legal degree from Pace University School of Law, and earned a certificate in environmental law. While attending law school, she served as a research and writing editor for the Pace Environmental Law Review and a chair of the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. Ms. Haggerty also participated in the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic. During law school, Stephanie worked for the Natural Resources Defense Counsel, as well as the Department of Justice in the Environmental Enforcement Section. While in law school, Ms. Haggerty was the recipient of the Merit Scholar Award, Lois Murphy Scholarship and the Everett Public Service Scholarship. 

Ms. Haggerty received her undergraduate degree in Environmental and Forest Biology from the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She earned a master of science degree from the University of Georgia, where her research focused on macroinvertebrates in headwater streams in Washington.

Ms. Haggerty is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bars and is admitted to practice in the District of New Jersey, Southern District of New york and Eastern District of New York.
