Conflicts Research Assistant - Washington, DCOffice: WashingtonReporting to the Conflicts Manager, is responsible for the accurate and timely input and research of potential client information to determine if a conflict exists that would prohibit the firm from representing a client. Assists in conflicts checks related to hiring of attorneys and paralegals. The role is comprised of a combination of clerical, research, and coordination duties. Must also work as part of a team and maintain a good rapport with co-workers. Assists the Conflicts Manager in the evaluation of new technologies for conflict of interest identification and with the training of time-keepers on improvements to the conflict search request and results process. Assists attorneys and staff with preparation of forms to be submitted for conflicts research. Provides support and answers questions concerning the conflicts process, and provides assistance to individuals requiring a preliminary conflict of interest search. Maintains and updates conflicts related forms and materials and the conflicts databases. Prior experience in performing conflict checks, using automated conflict checking software and reporting conflicts results is required. Experience with the Conflicts module of Elite Enterprise or similar software products preferred. Familiarity with business and legal research procedures and resources. A minimum of two years of law firm experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to capably manage competing deadlines, commitment to providing excellent client service, and proficiency with standard suite of Windows products (Word, Outlook, Excel) required.
