Parker Moore Quoted on Impacts of ESA Listings on Project Development

Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., February 26, 2014

Parker Moore, a Principal in Beveridge & Diamond's Washington, D.C. office, was recently quoted in an article appearing in the January/February 2014 issue of Transportation Builder titled "Transportation Construction: The Next Endangered Species?"  The article addresses the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and its impact on project development and construction.  Regarding the fact that hundreds of new species may soon be protected under the ESA, Mr. Moore said:

"Unfortunately, project developers in every state will feel the effects of this settlement, leading to project development headaches, increased costs, and delays for transportation construction. As a result, it now is crucial for developers and transportation planners to factor ESA issues into their plans early on and to take the steps necessary to minimize disruption of their projects."
