As part of Beveridge & Diamond’s ongoing focus on environmental law and policy developments in China and assisting Chinese businesses with their U.S. ventures, firm principals Karl Bourdeau and Scott Fulton will travel to Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing, China from June 14-23.

Mssrs. Bourdeau and Fulton will participate in a series of meetings focused on enhancing communication and interaction between companies doing business in China and Chinese environmental regulators.  In addition to meeting with senior environmental officials from the Chinese governments and private companies, Mssrs. Bourdeau and Fulton will speak on the use of environmental pollution liability insurance to strengthen enterprises’ financial responsibility for environmental performance during a seminar hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection’s Center for Environmental and Economic Policy Research.

“The pace and scale of Chinese investment in the U.S. and developments in Policy China’s environmental regulatory regime create opportunities for businesses and some unique challenges,” said Mr. Bourdeau.  “As the U.S.’s premier environmental specialty law firm, with both domestic and international expertise, Beveridge & Diamond aims to help clients from a broad cross-section of industries address their China-related plans.”

Beveridge & Diamond advises Chinese companies on the environmental considerations of doing business in the U.S. and, through relationships with a network of Chinese-qualified law firms, on multi-national companies’ environmental needs in China.  For more information, please contact Karl Bourdeau or Scott Fulton
