Henry Diamond Receives Prestigious National Parks AwardBeveridge & Diamond, P.C., October 17, 2008 On October 16, Henry Diamond was awarded the Pugsley Medal of the American Academy for Park & Recreation Administration and the National Park Foundation at a banquet in Baltimore. The letter announcing the award describes it as "the most prestigious award given in the parks and conservation field.” Previous winners include Lady Bird Johnson and Secretaries of the Interior Stuart Udall and Bruce Babbitt. Two of Henry's achievements related to public lands and conservation are: his historic 350-mile bike ride across New York State in 1972 to draw attention to a pending $1.15 billion Environmental Quality Bond Act during Henry's tenure as the first New York State Commissioner of Environmental Conservation; and Land Use in America, the 1996 report that Henry co-authored with Patrick F.
