Jimmy Slaughter Quoted in GreenWire on Los Angeles Appeal to U.S. Supreme Court

March 19, 2010

Litigators from Beveridge & Diamond's Washington and California offices along with co-counsel filed a certiorari petition with the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of the City of Los Angeles and a coalition of  biosolids generators, transporters and farmers.  The Firm has represented the coalition since 2006 and secured preliminary and permanent injunctions against Kern County's ban on land application of biosolids, and an attorney fee award of $1.1 million dollars.  The certiorari petition challenges a Ninth Circuit ruling that reversed the Commerce Clause component of the trial court's decision. A copy of the petition is available here.
