August 26, 2014

Beveridge & Diamond Principal, Pete Anderson, is speaking at the 2014 Environmental, Energy, Health & Safety School in Raleigh on August 26, 2014, which is hosted by the North Carolina Manufacturers' Alliance.   This event is one of the State's premier annual environmental law gatherings and offers 25 individual courses that cover current issues in environmental law including air quality, water quality, solid and hazardous waste, occupational safety and health, energy, and sustainability.

In drawing on his experience as a former federal prosecutor, Mr. Anderson's session is entitled -- "What Makes Environmental Violations Turn Criminal? A Peek Inside the Environmental Prosecutor's Playbook."  Similar to the general focus of Beveridge & Diamond's White Collar Crimes & Compliance Practice, this session will review the relevant governmental policies and guidance to help attendees understand what can be done before, during and after an environmental incident to reduce liability and add value.
