Karen M. Hansen will be a panelist in the first seminar of the Environmental Law Institute and DC Bar's Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Section Energy Committee's 2008 Ocean Seminar Series: Managing Industrialized Oceans. The first seminar is entitled Emerging and Expanding Ocean Uses: Scientific and Regulatory Uncertainty
Ms. Hansen will be one of four panelists to discuss questions arising from the use of oceans to provide alternative energy, sequester carbon, or as a place to expand existing activities. They will tackle the challenges of decision-making, development, and conservation in the face of scientific and regulatory uncertainty.
