Beveridge & Diamond Principal Stacey Sublett Halliday (Washington, DC) has been named to the Board of the Environmental Law Institute (ELI). Stacey is co-chair of the firm’s environmental justice practice group and maintains a diverse practice, advising clients on environmental compliance due diligence, environmental enforcement, corporate social responsibility, non-financial reporting, and environmental justice.

As part of the ELI Board, which draws from private law practice, corporate management, nongovernmental organizations, and academia, Stacey will help lead the organization and develop its strategy. “Uniting diverse interests is a strength of ELI, and these distinguished individuals will bring a wealth of experience, energy, and new perspectives to the ELI Board of Directors,” said ELI President Scott Fulton.

ELI is an internationally recognized, non-partisan research and education center working to strengthen environmental protection by improving law and governance worldwide. With the addition of Stacey and her fellow 2021 Board members, the organization has achieved gender parity across its already diverse board of 20 men and 20 women.

“I look forward to working with our newest members to advance ELI’s important mission of improving the environment through the effective rule of law,” added B&D Chairman and ELI Board Chair Ben Wilson. Stacey joins fellow new Board members, Marisa Blackshire (Senior Director of Environmental Compliance and EH&S, Bloom Energy), Gwendolyn Keyes Fleming (Partner, Van Ness Feldman LLP), and Alex Wang (Professor of Law, UCLA School of Law).
