Beveridge & Diamond Sponsoring, Speaking at GlobalChem 2019

Beveridge & Diamond is a proud sponsor of GlobalChem, taking place in Washington, DC, March 6-8, 2019. GlobalChem, hosted by the American Chemistry Council is one of the industry's leading events focused on chemical regulation and provides a unique educational opportunity for chemical industry professionals.

The event includes a 2-day Conference and 1-day TSCA Fundamentals Workshop.  GlobalChem 2019 will explore the implementation aspect of the updated Toxic Substances Control Act since the passage of the Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act (LCSA) amendments to TSCA, and will include discussions on how the chemicals industry can support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) efforts to effectively and efficiently implement both the new and existing provisions of TSCA.

Mark Duvall (Principal, Washington, DC), leader of the firm's Chemicals group, will discuss TSCA’s Future: Vision for Implementation, on Thursday, March 7. This session will explore the best case scenario for TSCA implementation, including how businesses can plan for success down the road on key implementation issues; how Low and High Priority Chemical designations – and any subsequent regulatory outcomes – will be communicated to the public; how transparent EPA will be in its auditing and tracking of actual costs under the fee rule; and, the process for providing refunds.

Maddie Boyer (Principal, Austin, TX) will speak on Regulatory Cooperation in Latin America on Friday, March 8. Maddie will discuss recent regulatory developments in Brazil and Argentina and how their Memorandum of Understanding to align their chemicals management might lead to a stronger chemical manufacturing economy, and increased trade and investment. Maddie will also preview the regulatory expectations arising in Chile’s hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in 2019, and how Latin American chemical regulators and industry can contribute there.
