Biography

Kate's practice primarily focuses on litigation and arbitration matters. 

Her experience includes all aspects of pretrial procedure and discovery, motions practice, oral arguments, settlement negotiations, arbitration and trial work.  She also has experience at the appellate level, both in writing appellate briefs and arguing in front of an appellate court.  Her litigation practice includes a wide array of subject matter such as product liability, contract disputes, toxic torts, pesticide data rights, and commercial matters.

Kate received her legal degree with honors from the University of Maryland and, in recognition of being in the top ten percent of her class, upon graduation was elected to Order of the Coif.  While at the University of Maryland, she competed on the National Trial Team, was Associate Articles Editor for The Business Lawyer, and a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honors Society.  She received her Bachelors of Science degree from Clemson University and after graduation studied at The Johns Hopkins University.

Community Involvement

Before joining Beveridge & Diamond, Kate served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Nepal. While in Nepal, she worked as the Community Health Coordinator for the regional hospital and started a women's cooperative, creating jobs for local women.
