Benjamin F. Wilson Receives Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s Legacy Award

Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. is proud to announce that our Firm's Managing Principal, Benjamin F. Wilson, was honored at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s 28th Annual Awards Gala on November 21 in Washington, D.C.  Mr. Wilson received the Fund’s Thurgood Marshall Legacy Award, one of several honors the Fund bestows to celebrate the achievements of the nation’s foremost visionaries who have used their influence to positively impact the lives of students attending publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Accepting the award before an audience of over 1,500 people, Ben thanked the Fund and observed  “now, more than ever, we must ensure that our students have the resources, facilities, and necessary support to prepare them to meet the great changes facing America and the world.  These challenges require the efforts of America’s best minds.  Some of these best minds attend the universities we support this evening.”

Other honorees included Shelley Broderick, Dean of the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and Square, and Tom Vilsack, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.

“Everyone who knows Ben knows him to be a great leader and visionary in the area of diversity and inclusion.  His dedication and influence extend throughout and beyond the legal profession.  We are fortunate to have Ben at the helm of our firm, and we congratulate him and the other distinguished honorees for their efforts and accomplishments,” said Paula Schauwecker, member of the Beveridge & Diamond’s Management Committee and the Firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Principal.
