Beveridge & Diamond Celebrates Third Class of Thurgood Marshall Opportunity Fellows

Beveridge & Diamond, P.C.

With the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, in 2012 Beveridge & Diamond PC initiated creation of the Thurgood Marshall Opportunity Program and helped secure the participation and support of four other Baltimore law firms.  The Program provides opportunities for diverse first year law students to have a summer internship with the Office of the Attorney General as supplemented by formal networking and educational opportunities.  The program launched in 2013 and last week successfully concluded its third summer.   All five sponsoring firms have committed to continued support for another three years, and Beveridge & Diamond anticipates that the program will grow as additional firms become interested in becoming sponsors and joining the unique networking opportunities that focus on the clerks’ professional development.  The attached photograph features the Maryland Attorney General, Brian Frosh, who enthusiastically has supported continuation and growth of the program, and 2015 TMOP Clerks: Luz Beato (American University); Vanessa Destime (University of Maryland); Fernando Kirkman (University of Maryland); Aileen Ng (George Washington University); Greg Ward (American University); and Sheena Williams (University of Baltimore).

Questions about becoming a TMOP sponsor should be directed to Ben Wilson, Pamela Marks and Evynn Overton of Beveridge & Diamond.
