Dan Krainin Elected Co-President of Law Firm Sustainability Network

Principal Dan Krainin (New York) has been elected Co-President of the Law Firm Sustainability Network (LFSN). Founded in 2011, LFSN is a nonprofit organization of law firms and legal departments committed to promoting the benefits of environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility within their firms and throughout the legal industry.

LFSN has over 35 law firm members, including several AmLaw 100 law firms. LFSN plans to launch in the coming weeks its proprietary American Legal Industry Sustainability Standard (ALISS) on-line self-assessment tool. A leading LFSN initiative, ALISS will enable law firms to objectively measure and benchmark their environmental sustainability programs and will provide a roadmap of potential steps for firms looking to enhance their programs.

“Dan has worked tirelessly to get LFSN off to a great start and to move ALISS from idea to reality. We are delighted to now have him assume the co-President role as we chart our course for even greater transformation and growth,” said Gayatri Joshi, Executive Director of LFSN.

Added Dan, “I am honored to serve as co-President of LFSN. I am proud of what we have accomplished to date and I look forward to helping LFSN fulfill its vision to be the premier sustainability resource for the U.S. legal sector, as our profession moves towards a greener future.”

Dan has chaired or co-chaired Beveridge & Diamond’s “Green Team” since its inception in 2007. In that role, he led the firm’s early sustainability efforts, including becoming the first firm to implement the American Bar Association-Environmental Protection Agency Law Office Climate Challenge in all of its offices. He is a founding member of the LFSN Board of Directors, and B&D is a founding member of the LFSN Leadership Council.
