John Cruden Joining ELI Webinar on Abandoned Mine Lands

B&D Principal John Cruden (Washington, DC) will join Environmental Law Institute (ELI)'s webinar, "Restoring Abandoned Mines: Good Samaritans or Risky Policy?" The program will explore the opportunities and challenges of current and future policies that can prevent further environmental degradation and remediate abandoned mines, answering questions including:

  • What are the opportunities and obstacles to both mitigate disincentives and broaden incentives for Good Samaritans to undertake cleanup efforts of abandoned mine lands?
  • What are the best practices for undertaking such cleanup efforts?
  • What steps can be implemented at the planning stage of new mines as well as end-of-life restoring to prevent environmental degradation?

For more information, and to register, please see ELI's websiteNote: All registrants for ELI events need to have an ELI "account." Non-members who have previously not set up an ELI account may click on the "Create new account" tab, complete the process, and then return to the registration page. While creating this account does not confer ELI membership, it will allow you to register for this and future ELI events.
