Mid-Level or Senior Environmental Transactions Associate
Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. seeks an experienced mid-level or senior environmental transactions associate with four to eight years of relevant transactional experience to join our Firm. Residency in an east coast office, preferably Boston, is ideal but we will consider remote attorneys for this role.
Transactional associates are expected to assist with a wide range of complex environmental transactional matters. The ideal candidate must have experience conducting environmental due diligence, negotiating environmental indemnities, and drafting and counseling clients on various agreements such as carbon inset/offset projects, solar leases, ancillary agreements (e.g., vendor MSAs, O&M agreements), power purchase agreements, and virtual power purchase agreements. Experience with some or all of the following are preferred: CERCLA, RCRA, OMB’s Uniform Guidance, Federal Power Act, tariffs, climate-related cross- border trade.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
- Status as an active member in good standing of the bar in at least one state jurisdiction with the ability to obtain licensure in the jurisdiction of physical practice within six months of hire.
- Four to eight years of post-J.D. experience in transactional practice areas, ideally gained at an AmLaw 100 or similarly elite law firm.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Exceptional analytical, research, and contract drafting skills, with a proven track record of producing high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Understanding of deal flows and related client pressures, and ability to manage some transactions with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience working with sophisticated clients or stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle significant client responsibilities.
- Located in the Eastern Time Zone (preferred); will be required to be available during regular Eastern business hours.
