Energy Environment Economy, a podcast produced by the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBCNE), interviewed Associate Michael Campinell (Boston) for its September 30 episode titled, "Facilitating Mentorship, a Conversation with Ascending Leaders." Adrienne Dunk (Project Manager, GZA GeoEnvironmental) joined Michael on the podcast as part of a series highlighting winners of EBCNE's 2024 Ascending Leader Award. The speakers share their experiences as both the mentor and mentee in their professional lives.

Michael discussed the mentorship programs available at B&D, both formal and informal. He also spoke about his relationships with junior attorneys at the firm and the importance of making oneself available for mentor/mentee conversations.

Michael’s primary practice areas are the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the Clean Water Act. In his CERCLA practice, Michael works on several matters of national importance, including the Portland Harbor and Berry’s Creek Superfund sites. At B&D, Michael is deputy co-chair of B&D’s CERCLA, Brownfields, & Subsurface Contamination practice group. Michael maintains a very active pro bono practice, where he assists individual and non-profit clients in land conservation, housing, and immigration matters. Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly featured Michael’s dedication to pro bono work in its 2023 Pro Bono Spotlight, and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court named him to the 2023 Pro Bono High Honor Roll.
