Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. represents clients in Federal and State trial and appeals courts and in other contested proceedings in general commercial disputes. Our cases involve such matters as products, contracts, warranties, indemnities, unfair trade or business practice, trade secrets, employment and non-compete agreements, securities, class actions, anti-trust and defamation claims. We are frequently retained for complex cases in which significant financial or other interests are at stake. Our advocates use technology and other means to control costs and to enhance their effectiveness in these cases. They have the demonstrated ability to win before judges and juries.

Beveridge & Diamond represents clients in Federal and State trial and appeals courts and in other contested proceedings in general commercial disputes. Our cases involve such matters as products, contracts, warranties, indemnities, unfair trade or business practice, trade secrets, employment and non-compete agreements, securities, class actions, anti-trust and defamation claims. We are frequently retained for complex cases in which significant financial or other interests are at stake. Our advocates use current technology and other means to control costs and to enhance their effectiveness in these cases and have the demonstrated ability to win before judges and juries.
We work with our clients throughout the litigation process, from pre-action investigations and settlement efforts through trial and any appeals, to assure that our efforts advance agreed-upon goals and stay on budget. We staff our cases leanly and make every effort to keep the litigation team intact from the beginning of the case to its end. Our technology enhances the control, management and presentation of documents and other demonstrative evidence; and it enables us to efficiently partner with our clients’ abilities. The Firm employs a former Federal Agent to help investigate cases and prepare them for trial. We have handled cases in the United States Supreme Court, every Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, many Federal District Courts and every State. Where necessary or appropriate, we work with local counsel to enhance our representation and contain costs.
- We won a $10 million jury verdict in a challenge to the failure of a health insurer to pass on to health plan participants the benefit of discounts the insurer had negotiated with health care providers. Neal v. The Health Plan of the Upper Ohio Valley, Inc.
- We preserved a $440 million, 20-year contract for a city and avoided a claim for substantial damages in a breach of contract action. In the Matter of the Arbitration between The Town of Brookhaven and the Town of Hempstead on Behalf of the Town of Hempstead Refuse Disposal District.
- After extensive pre-trial proceedings we obtained multimillion dollar settlements for two cities in breach of warranty, negligence and fraud actions against designers, builders and equipment suppliers of municipal wastewater treatment facilities. Cities of Morgantown and Parkersberg v. Kelley, Gidley, Blair & Wolfe.
- We won voluntary dismissal of unfair trade suits against an international manufacturer by its distributors. Equistar Prods. Co. v. Risdon Q-Mist Corp.; Risdon Mfg. Co. v. Brother Int’l Corp.
- We won the dismissal of an antitrust suit by a pay-per-view telecaster challenging a college football television agreement between the American Broadcasting Company and the College Football Association. Sports View Co. v. College Football Ass’n.
- After two trials, we produced a favorable defense settlement in a class action by a minority shareholder alleging violations of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s proxy rules and state common law claims. Wilson v. Great Am. Indus., Inc.
- We negotiated the settlement for a nominal sum of a nationwide class action alleging price fixing in the retail sale of food processors. In Re Cuisinarts Anti-Trust Litig.
- We have won dismissal, summary judgment and successful jury verdicts in invasion of privacy actions. Waicker, Chochran and Dunford v. Baltimore City Paper.
- On the eve of trial, we negotiated a settlement in a case involving alleged copyright infringement, a Lanham Act violation and related common law claims. Rowell v. Price Co.
- We defeated an attempt to invalidate an agreement for solid waste disposal on the basis of a Commerce Clause challenge.
- We won a $2.75 million settlement for the City of Philadelphia in a dispute with a neighboring municipality for failure to pay under a waste water treatment contract.
