Abby’s practice includes environmental litigation, hazardous waste, contaminated sites, permitting, renewable energy, waste and recycling, and environmental compliance. Her experience includes defending a state enforcement action involving alleged hazardous waste violations and related civil penalties, representing waste and recycling companies in class action litigation bringing nationwide claims, and defending clients in disputes involving contaminated sites. Abby also assists clients in challenging local permitting decisions before Massachusetts courts and environmental agencies.

Drawing on her experience in government and the renewable energy industry, Abby understands the legal, regulatory, and operational considerations that shape clients’ decisions. She works closely with them to develop practical strategies that advance their business and project objectives.

Before joining B&D, Abby served as a certified student practitioner at the Suffolk University Environmental Law & Policy Clinic, where she counseled clients on Clean Water Act and municipal solid waste matters. In addition, Abby served as a judicial intern at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Prior to law school, Abby was a Renewable Energy Program Coordinator at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, where she supported the implementation of the Commonwealth’s solar energy incentive program. She also worked as the Operations Manager for a solar energy company, supporting engineers in the development of commercial-scale solar projects. Abby's prior experience in government and the renewable energy industry gives her practical insight into the regulatory and operational challenges facing B&D's clients today.
