Principal Aaron Goldberg (Washington, DC) will present “Universal Waste Rules for Paints" during an American Coatings Association (ACA) webinar.

In his presentation, Aaron will provide general background on how Universal Waste (UW) Rules for ubiquitous hazardous wastes, such as batteries, light bulbs, and aerosol cans, streamline otherwise applicable requirements under federal and state hazardous waste regulations. He will then discuss current UW Rules for paints and paint-related wastes in the eight states with such rules, highlighting key variations. Aaron will conclude with an update on the petition ACA and its related product stewardship organization, PaintCare, submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which asks for EPA to classify and regulate paint wastes as UW at the federal level.
