Biography
Cymone maintains an extensive national practice, assisting clients with complex environmental litigation and regulatory matters.
Her experience includes advising clients on issues arising out of the Clean Water Act, permit compliance, and enforcement defense. She also maintains a broad waste management practice, concentrating on nuanced federal, state, and local water issues. With a focus on communication and creative, practical problem solving, Cymone works closely with clients to help them navigate the constantly evolving environmental regulatory landscape, delivering thoughtful and strategic guidance.
Before joining B&D, she worked as an associate at a local Baltimore firm where she served as lead counsel on challenging commercial real estate acquisitions across the country, including handling complex environmental issues related to oil wells, RCRA compliance, and assisting with environmental assessments. Cymone also has experience preparing financing documents for several types of transactions like revolving loans for renewable energy projects, traditional financing, large commercial real estate sales, and affordable housing refinancings.
While pursuing her J.D., Cymone was the Executive Technology Director for the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law’s Journal of Business & Technology Law and President of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team. She is also passionate about environmental justice and spent her time in the Environmental Law Clinic at the Francis King Carey School of Law preparing a climate change manual for environmental justice communities.
