Biography

David leads B&D’s technology, cybersecurity, litigation support, and artificial intelligence strategy.

As Chief Information Officer (CIO), he is responsible for aligning technology investments with the firm’s strategic objectives, risk management priorities, and client service goals. David helps the firm meet client security expectations, regulatory requirements, and the operational demands of complex legal matters.

David works closely with firm leadership and attorneys to ensure the firm’s technology platforms and governance frameworks support client needs and outside counsel requirements. Under his leadership, B&D achieved ISO 27001 certification and continues to advance its Information Security Management System, strengthening the firm’s ability to respond effectively to client security reviews, data-governance inquiries, and compliance obligations.

He also oversees the firm’s approach to Generative AI, guiding the governed deployment of enterprise AI tools and the development of practical, defensible workflows for legal practice. His work emphasizes policy development, training, and responsible adoption, enabling productivity improvements while safeguarding confidentiality, accuracy, and professional standards—particularly in matters where clients mandate or closely scrutinize AI use.

In addition to his CIO responsibilities, David leads the firm's Litigation Support and eDiscovery function. He has led the modernization of case management, analytics, and trial support capabilities, enabling attorneys to manage large-scale matters more efficiently and present complex information with clarity and precision.

Prior to joining B&D, David held senior executive roles at a global legal technology company, including Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Strategy Officer. In those roles, he helped scale the business, guided product and growth strategy for AI-enabled legal platforms, and led global go-to-market initiatives serving law firms and corporate legal departments.
