Jackie maintains a comprehensive practice advising companies on complex regulatory compliance and litigation matters.

Jackie’s representative experience includes advising organizations on a wide array of regulatory frameworks, including RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, CWA, OSHA, and state counterparts. She brings five years of experience defending clients in litigation against claims of nuisance, trespass, negligence, and similar toxic tort claims in federal and state courts. Jackie also advises clients on developing creative regulatory and compliance strategies, including hazardous waste management and disposal programs, RCRA audits, Land Application System permitting, PFAS manufacturing liabilities, EPR laws, and landfill closures.

Notable examples of Jackie’s experience include:

  • Successfully overturning a MSW landfill permit on behalf of a county.

  • Defending a major natural gas pipeline operator against tort and eminent domain claims related to alleged gas migration.

  • Defending California retailers against District Attorney-lead hazardous waste management investigations and developing compliance strategies in response.

  • Advising a major automotive manufacturer on international lithium-ion battery laws and regulations relating to transportation.

  • Representing a dairy farmer against odor and water contamination claims.

Jackie helps clients through all stages of litigation, performing legal research to draft compliance opinions, memoranda, written discovery responses, pleadings, motion briefing, and correspondence with opposing counsel, from case inception to discovery and mediation stages.

In law school, Jackie was a student attorney with the Turner Environmental Law Clinic and a member of the Environmental & Conservation Society. She interned with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 4 and the Southern Environmental Law Center.
