Biography

Lauren understands the science of environmental matters, enabling her to provide strategic counsel on regulatory issues, and has a vested interest in progressing corporate sustainability.

Lauren’s environmental work focuses on the remediation and proper disposal of hazardous waste and determining the recyclability of products through the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and its state analogues. She also regularly assists Texas, United States, and internationally based corporations on a wide array of compliance and safety matters. For example, she regularly provides creative solutions for waste disposal companies to align with public health goals.

Lauren also counsels clients on ESG and corporate sustainability, including in the navigation of both international and domestic climate disclosures, modern slavery advising, and guidance relating to green marketing messaging. Namely, she created a benchmark of the corporate structure of leaders in the technology sector to aid in the development of a client’s ESG strategy and separately drafted a greenwashing litigation and regulatory overview. She is a member of B&D’s Sustainability Committee, which is in the process of evaluating the firm’s greenhouse gas emissions and updating its sustainability policy.

Before joining B&D, Lauren was an associate at a plaintiff’s-side complex litigation firm in Seattle, Washington, where she represented consumer and government-entity plaintiffs in class actions and Multi District Litigations. While pursuing her J.D., she researched international environmental issues for the Global Rights Compliance as part of Vanderbilt Law School’s International Law Practice Lab and advised California counties on environmental regulatory compliance as a law clerk at the Environmental Defense Center.
