B&D Welcomes Three New Attorneys
Will's practice focuses on cases involving the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA), Washington’s state law-equivalent to CERCLA. Will clerked for the Washington State Court of Appeals prior to joining Beveridge & Diamond. During law school, Will served as the Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Law, the country’s oldest law review dedicated exclusively to environmental issues. Will also clerked at Earthrise Law Center and the Oregon Department of Justice, and he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael W. Mosman in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
Deepti supports clients across industry sectors in matters relating to international environmental, waste, and chemical regulations; corporate social responsibility; supply chain; product stewardship; and renewables, while also assisting with litigation related to various environmental statutes. Deepti’s regulatory work involves tracking federal, state, and local EHS laws to keep clients apprised of changes in their responsibilities. Deepti works closely in advising clients on topics related to waste with a particular focus on multilateral environmental agreements including the Basel Convention. Her international experience focuses on the circular economy, international and federal laws related to waste recycling and disposal, plastics, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change/Paris Agreement, tax incentives for environmental projects, and carbon trading. Prior to law school, Deepti was as a financial consultant at Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP.
Rue leverages her in-house counsel experience by integrating business priorities into legal solutions. Prior to joining B&D, Rue worked in government and regulatory affairs at a Fortune 50 company where she helped the company formulate a climate change strategy, build coalitions, and respond to federal environmental regulations. While pursuing her LL.M., Rue joined the Clean Energy Leadership Institute, working to secure a clean and equitable energy transition. She applies this expertise to help clients achieve their corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and environmental justice goals.
