Lauren Karam Becomes Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association Air Quality and Climate Change Committee

Associate Lauren Karam (Boston) recently became co-chair of the Boston Bar Association (BBA) Environmental and Energy Law Section’s (The Section) Air Quality and Climate Change Committee. Lauren joins current co-chair Priya Gandbhir of the Conservation Law Foundation. Lauren previously served on the committee as its New Lawyers Liaison.

Boston Principal Jeanine Grachuk Co-Chairs the Section’s Hazardous and Solid Waste Committee.

The Section is comprised of lawyers working across the board in-house, government and private practice, who have experience in a myriad of areas within environmental law. Members work to impact Massachusetts environmental policy through the section’s close relationship with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP).

Lauren commented. “I am excited to continue representing B&D in this new role within the Section, and look forward to focusing on cutting-edge air & climate change legal issues and planning valuable programming for the Boston legal community.”

Lauren’s practice at B&D focuses on counseling clients on air and climate regulations, Superfund litigation, and environmental justice. Before joining the firm, she served as Counsel in MassDEP’s Office of General Counsel, focusing on climate policy, air permit litigation, and enforcement matters.
