Roy Prather Appointed as Vice Chair of DRI Toxic Tort & Environmental Law Committee

The Defense Research Institute (DRI) recently appointed Principal Roy Prather (Baltimore) to serve as the 2023 Vice Chair of its Toxic Tort & Environmental Law (TTEL) Committee. He currently serves as Program Chair for the TTEL Committee’s 2023 Seminar. The primary objective of the TTEL Committee is to provide members with the most current and reliable scientific, medical and legal information available. The Committee fulfills this role through its annual seminar, an expert witness information sharing network, an electronic newsletter, a dedicated issue of For The Defense, and connecting practitioners with a vast network of accomplished defense attorneys. Principal John Guttmann (Washington, DC) previously chaired the Committee. See additional coverage of John’s positions here.

Roy commented, “I am thrilled to serve as Vice Chair of DRI’s Toxic Tort & Environmental Law Committee. I look forward to working with the many committee members and contributing to its thought leadership.”

In addition, Roy recently joined DRI’s Climate Change and Sustainability Task Force. The Climate Change and Sustainability Task Force falls under The Policy Committee of DRI’s Center For Law and Policy. John Guttmann is Program Chair of The Policy Committee and is also part of the Management Council of The Center.

Roy also commented, “In light of how climate change has affected my legal practice, and its increasing prevalence in our day-to-day lives, I look forward to working with the Climate Change and Sustainability Task Force to connect and collaborate with other lawyers to establish best practices and share valuable knowledge.”
