MCCA Honors Alyse Adamson with Rising Star Award

B&D proudly announces that the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) has recognized Principal Alyse I. Adamson as a 2024 recipient of its Rising Star Award. MCCA's Rising Stars is an annual selection of attorneys whose accomplishments and dedication to the legal profession and their community place them among those “attorneys to watch.”

Alyse, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, co-chairs B&D’s Environmental Crimes & White Collar practice and the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) committee. She provides clients strategic counsel on high-stakes enforcement and compliance matters, particularly in complex or large-scale white-collar litigation and internal investigations. She has presented to groups, including the Association of Corporate Counsel and the American Chemistry Council, on criminal law topics and has appeared frequently as a legal commentator.

Throughout her career, Alyse has participated in DE&I efforts in various capacities, including serving as Eastern Regional Director of the National Black Prosecutor’s Association, Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee of the DC Women’s Bar Association, and on the Diversity Committee in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. She also frequently speaks on the topic of diversity in the legal field, including in recent remarks at the Howard University Law School’s annual Charlotte E. Ray Lecture and Conference.

Firm Chair Kathy Szmuszkovicz (Washington, DC) commented, "Congratulations to Alyse on this distinguished recognition. All of us at B&D are very proud of Alyse for her excellent service to our clients, leadership within the firm, and contributions to the legal profession. We look forward to her continued positive impacts in all these dimensions.”

Principal Roy Prather (Baltimore), a 2021 MCCA Rising Star, added, "Alyse is a talented leader and a brilliant attorney poised to excel in the legal profession and beyond.  She is most deserving of this recognition, and I am grateful to be her colleague.”
