B&D Sponsoring, Speaking at the Annual Environment Virginia Symposium

Beveridge & Diamond is proud to sponsor the 2023 Annual Environment Virginia Symposium, taking place in Lexington, VA from March 28-30. The conference will cover a broad range of topics including climate resilience, water quality monitoring programs, and regulatory updates through a series of breakout sessions, workshops, and networking events.

Astrika Adams (Associate, Washington, DC), who serves on the planning committee, will speak on a panel, "Re-Orienting Environmental Justice," on March 28 from 3:45-4:45 p.m. The panel will focus on the policy changes surrounding environmental justice at both the federal level and in Virginia, specifically, discussing what issues project proponents and consultants should pay attention to and how to address environmental justice concerns while simultaneously achieving project goals. The panel will also feature Andy Beaudet (Acting Chief, Regulatory Branch U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District), Chris Geraghty (President/Senior Scientist, Proactive Environmental Solutions), Danielle Simms (Manager, DEQ-Office of Environmental Justice), and Prinaka Sharma (Assistant Chief Counsel for Agriculture, Energy, and Natural Resources, U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy).

Additionally, this year’s conference will include a pre-conference workshop for rising leaders, a networking breakfast for women in the environment (WINE breakfast), and a post-conference hike up House Mountain, organized by the Virginia Outdoors Foundation. Co-hosts for the conference include the Virginia Environmental Endowment, the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, the Virginia Department of Forestry, and the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.
