Alyse Constantinide, Alan Sachs to Present on Voluntary Self-Disclosures for the Association of Corporate Counsel
Principals Alyse Constantinide and Alan Sachs (Washington, DC) will present an Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Environmental & Sustainability Network Legal Update webinar, "Navigating DOJ & EPA Voluntary Self-Disclosure Policies."
The Department of Justice (DOJ) recently introduced a new set of policies aimed at incentivizing corporations to voluntarily disclose violations through a consistent and predictable process. This initiative complements the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) longstanding rules on voluntary self-disclosure under its Audit Policy. Although voluntary self-disclosures can help protect your organization from more severe penalties, increased agency attention can also pose inherent risks. Participants will hear insights on the benefits and risks of self-disclosures for both agencies, highlighting the eligibility criteria, incentives, and steps associated with the respective disclosure processes.
