B&D Sponsoring, Speaking at ACC's Virtual 2020 Annual Meeting

Beveridge & Diamond is proud to sponsor the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC)'s 2020 Annual Meeting, taking place virtually from October 12 to 16. ACC’s Annual Meeting is the world’s largest gathering of in-house counsel, offering a variety of programs on all aspects of in-house practice. Beveridge & Diamond has sponsored the ACC Environmental & Sustainability Network since 2012.

Of Counsel Allyn Stern (Seattle) will join the panel presentation, “How to Deal with a Disaster Including Its Possible Effect on Corporate Real Estate, Reputation, Liability Exposure, and Land Use,” on October 12, 3:30-4:30 PM ET. The panelists will explore the question, "what happens if your company accidentally releases a chemical into the environment (whether from manufacturing or waste handling) or experiences a catastrophic event such as a fire or explosion?" To effectively manage both the short- and long-term implications, in-house counsel must consider the immediate response with an eye toward the long-term ramifications on property transactional values, insurance claims, corporate and product reputation, stakeholder relations, and the ever-watchful plaintiffs’ bar. This program will delve into both the immediate steps to take and the longer-term issues to manage in the wake of catastrophic events such as chemical releases, fires, or explosions.

Speakers:

  • Vincent Gonzales, Senior Environmental Counsel, Southern California Gas Company
  • Chelsea Grossi, Associate Counsel, Antero Resources Corporation
  • Allyn Stern, Attorney, Beveridge & Diamond
  • Dave Wagner, Senior Counsel, Covestro LLC

B&D will also host a booth in the virtual exhibit hall. Along with Allyn Stern, Principals Nessa Coppinger (Washington, DC), Brook Detterman (Boston, MA), Dan Krainin (New York, NY), and Roy Prather (Baltimore, MD), and Associates Jessalee Landfried (Washington, DC), Kaitlyn Shannon (San Francisco, CA), and Michael Vitris (Austin, TX) will be available to meet with attendees in the virtual exhibit hall.
