The Legal 500 Names B&D a Top Tier Environmental Regulatory and Litigation Firm for 2023

The Legal 500 ranked Beveridge & Diamond as a top tier firm in the environmental regulatory law category for the ninth consecutive year, a top tier firm in climate change litigation for the first year, and a leading firm in environmental litigation category for the fourteenth consecutive year, in its United States edition.

The editorial references B&D’s successful defense of high-stakes flaring enforcement cases brought by the DOJ and EPA and in two high-profile and closely-watched toxic tort actions in federal court in Louisiana. The Legal 500 discusses B&D’s work in PFAS, Superfund, and contaminated sites. The editorial also highlights B&D’s longstanding environmental justice practice, as well as its cutting-edge product stewardship, circular economyESG, and sustainability work with Fortune 100 Companies.

While The Legal 500 does not rank lawyers and focuses on assessing the overall strength and depth of practice groups, it named John Cruden (Principal, Washington, DC) to its Hall of Fame for both environmental litigation and environmental regulatory law. It also listed Principals Paul Hagen (Washington, DC) and Karen Hansen (Austin) as Leading Lawyers for environmental regulatory law. The publication also listed Principal Stacey Halliday (Washington, DC) as a Next Generation Partner for environmental regulatory law, and Principals Megan Brillault (New York) and Bina Reddy (Austin) as Next Generation Partners for environmental litigation. Associate Katrina Krebs (New York) also received a Rising Star recognition for environmental litigation.

In total, The Legal 500’s editorials recognized 21 B&D attorneys:
